Our unique approach is designed to provide an exceptional customer experience throughout every step of the process.

Our process has been meticulously crafted as a solution to the specific challenges we have observed in the building industry throughout our careers. Drawing on valuable lessons learned through experience, we have refined a more effective approach.

We begin with an exploration of options, where you are presented with several distinct plans. The best ideas from each are then synthesized into an optimal design. We will invite you to select the Authentic Architectural Style that you love most; we excel in executing a wide range of styles, from modern to classical, including regional vernaculars. Our guiding principle is Timeless Beauty.

Next, we create a highly detailed digital replica of your home, known as a "digital twin." This Building Information Model (BIM) serves as an essential tool for both design and construction. Using Virtual Reality, our customers can immerse themselves in their future home throughout the design process, exploring options and making well-informed decisions with unprecedented clarity.

A key differentiator of our approach is the integration and coordination of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design (MEP). In building construction, the saying "the devil is in the details" has never been more relevant. By meticulously coordinating every detail—including MEP systems—within the digital twin, we can identify and resolve potential issues in the virtual model, avoiding costly surprises on the job siteWe specialize in creating all-electric homes that utilize rooftop solar energy, paving the way for a future free from utility bills.

While some aspects of this process can be quite technical, rest assured that we are here to explain your options and guide you in making informed decisions. An important factor to consider when selecting an architect and builder today is Illinois's adoption of the new Energy Code, which significantly impacts construction. By leveraging our in-house engineering expertise, we fine-tune the performance of the MEP systems, ultimately providing our customers greater comfort and cost savings.

What is Design-Build and how is it different?

Design-build construction is a project delivery method that integrates both the design and construction phases into one cohesive process. In this approach, a single entity, known as the design-builder, is responsible for both the design and construction of the project. This contrasts with the traditional design-bid-build method, where design and construction are separated, and a contractor is selected through a bidding process after the design is completed.

Benefits of Design-Build:

  • Streamlined communication and decision-making.

  • Potentially faster project completion.

  • Greater innovation through collaboration.

  • Simplified contract management.

Overall, design-build construction can lead to improved efficiency, reduced costs, and better outcomes for project owners compared to traditional delivery methods.

Key Differences:

  1. Single Responsibility:

    • Design-Build: One entity handles both design and construction, streamlining communication and accountability.

    • Traditional: Separate contracts mean the owner has to manage multiple contracts and entities.

  2. Collaboration:

    • Design-Build: Encourages collaboration between design and construction teams from the project's inception, often resulting in innovative solutions.

    • Traditional: Design and construction phases can be more siloed, leading to potential miscommunication and conflicts.

  3. Timeline:

    • Design-Build: Can often be faster as construction can commence before the entire design is finalized.

    • Traditional: Typically involves a sequential process that can lengthen the project timeline.

  4. Cost Control:

    • Design-Build: Easier to manage costs as the single entity oversees both aspects, potentially providing more accurate estimates and control over the budget.

    • Traditional: Budget can be impacted by change orders and contractor disputes, complicating cost management.

  5. Risk Mitigation:

    • Design-Build: Risks are more balanced between design and construction, reducing the owner's exposure to disputes.

    • Traditional: The owner may bear more risk, especially if issues arise between the designer and contractor.
